→ SUBSCRIBE TO OUR CHANNEL: 🤍 → And go to boilerroom.tv for the best of underground music: videos, articles, mixes and exclusive tracks We must admit, that we are especially enthralled about every new episode of our Collection series. Not only because they give us an opporunity to dive deep into the minds of fellow music nerds and excavate long forgotten musical gems, or because of all the little stories and anecdotes that are the personal footnotes to every record. Its because each episode is also a bit of a history lesson about the wider musical nexus our guests were embedded within - its a rare chance to hear the stories of emerging and collapsing scenes, how they shaped the listening habits of whole cities or to hear some undocumented key moments of music history, even if this history is a local one. One of those insightful episodes is our session with Sergey Krylov, who is somewhat a legend within the Russian underground and amongst post-Soviet record collectors. Know as the producer behind the seminal first two albums of the infamous art-rap group „Krovostok“ (think Aesop Rock meets Dostoevsky), he’s also the mind behind „Enthusiast“, one of the few Moscovite record stores. His story is a fascinating reflection of the post-Soviet condition - like many others young people he was driven by his enthusiasm and fascination for an influx of new music from the West, but at the same time he had to cope with the infrastructural shortcomings of an newly formed Russia, where underground records from the West were more than a rarity. We hope you enjoy this rare first-hand chronicle of Russian music history. → FIND US HERE, TOO: → FACEBOOK 🤍 → TWITTER: 🤍 → SOUNDCLOUD: 🤍 → INSTAGRAM: 🤍 → SNAPCHAT: boilerroomtv → DAILYMOTION: 🤍

Antonio Vivaldi: The Four Seasons ("Le Quattro Stagione"), "Summer", Presto Sergej Krylov - violin Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra/Lietuvos kamerinis orkestras This is a recording of one of the first live performances after COVID-19 lockdown in the world: Sergej Krylov and the LCO playing Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons to a socially distancing audience at Lithuanian National Philharmonic at Vilnius Festival 2020 simultaneously broadcasting to several channels and on social media. Click here to subscribe to our YouTube Channel: 🤍 Facebook: 🤍 Instagram: 🤍 The Four Seasons is the best known work of a great composer of the Italian baroque era Antonio Vivaldi (1678 - 1741). It is a group of four concertos for violin and orchestra published in 1725 together with accompanying poems (possibly written by Vivaldi himself) that illustrated what it was about those seasons that his music was intended to evoke. It provides one of the earliest and most-detailed examples of what was centuries later called programme music. Summer (Concerto No. 2 in G Minor) Allegro non molto Under the merciless sun of the season Languishes man and flock, the pine tree burns. The cuckoo begins to sing and at once Join in the turtledove and the goldfinch. A gentle breeze blows, but Boreas Is roused to combat suddenly with his neighbour, And the shepherd weeps because overhead Hangs the fearsome storm, and his destiny. Adagio His tired limbs are robbed of rest By his fear of the lightning and the frightful thunder And by the flies and hornets in furious swarms. Presto Alas, his fears come true: There is thunder and lightning in the heavens And the hail cuts down the tall ears of grain For full performance please visit 🤍

Sergej Krylov (violin) Vladimir Jurovsky (conductor) State Academic Symphony Orchestra "E. Svetlanov" Click here to subscribe to our YouTube Channel: 🤍 Facebook: 🤍 Instagram: 🤍 Sergei Prokofiev (1891 - 1953) is one of the most celebrated Russian composers of classical music. His Violin Concerto No.1 composition was completed in the summer of 1917 alongside with his First Symphony (the Classical), the Third and Fourth Piano Sonatas, and Visions fugitives for Piano. World War I was coming to the end, but Russia was facing unprecedented instability and anarchy which opened the way to the Bolshevik October Revolution. Concerned by the events, Prokofiev left Russia. The work was premiered in Paris October 18, 1923 by Serge Koussevitzky and Marcel Darrieux. In the audience for this performance were Pablo Picasso, Anna Pavlova, Artur Rubinstein and Igor Stravinsky. A few days later the work was performed with piano accompaniment in Soviet Russia by two young musicians in the beginning of their musical careers - Nathan Milstein and Vladimir Horowitz. But it was a Hungarian violinist Joseph Szigeti who championed the work, introducing it to audiences throughout Europe and America and making its first recording, in 1935, with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Sir Thomas Beecham. The violinist wrote in his memoir, With Strings Attached, that he has been fascinated “by its mixture of fairy-tale naiveté and daring savagery in lay-out and texture.” This live performance by Sergej Krylov and State Academic Symphony Orchestra "E. Svetlanov” was conducted by Vladimir Yurovsky. For full video please visit 🤍
